ID: 046d:09a4 Worked out of the box for the camera part. The microphone was a bit difficult to activate under Skype, but it ended working when I selected "USBxxx" as input device.

i've tested this webcam on Sidux 2007-01 (kernel version 2.6.20.1-slh-smp-2) with the gspca driver. both the camera and its built-in microphone work without any issues.

The MX Air works out of the box under Ubuntu 8.04. Just plug the USB receiver into a USB port and you can start using it. The included software is Windows-only, but it is really not that important and everything I have tested including gestures seems to work. It works great the scroll button function in both directions. Really easy to configure with gnome bluetooth manager.

I found that this mouse worked well, under one condition: that a windows computer is avaliable for configuration. Macros (eg tab switching in firefox) that are installed to the mouse from the windows software work under linux. Unfortunately, the extra buttons wouldn't work easily when set to generic mouse buttons, but this didn't prove to be much of a problem in day-to-day use.

This is packaged as the Logitech QuickCam IM Plus lsusb reports the Device ID 046d:08d9 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Connect I plugged it in and it worked with Skype and Camorama. In Ekiga, I had to go to Preferences > Devices > Video Devices and change the "Video plugin" setting from V4L2 to V4L Then it worked just fine. lsmod shows these working related to video videodev gspca v4l2_common v4l1_compat Not sure what that means, but the gurus will.

Using a default Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) system, I simply plugged the mouse in and everything (including scroll wheel/click) worked out of the box!
