USB/IrDA bridge (should apply to similar devices with Sigmatel STIr 4200 chip)

The device supports both SIR and FIR modes, however I have only been able to use it in SIR mode, I am not sure if the linux drivers support FIR?

Its quite difficult to install, I have put a guide here:
