Epson Stylus T23 (5)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Ubuntu Linux,Ark Linux and has a average rating of 5

The last rating (5) has been submitted on 2010-05-05 22:33:04 by Anonymous running Ubuntu Linux:
It works just fine. However, you need to know that when Ubuntu (10.04) autodetects your printer there's no "driver" for that particular printer. The obvious alternative would have been to select the T20 driver, but unfortunately it does not work. To make it work, you need to select the Epson Stylus CX5600 (simplified) CUPS driver from the list of possible alternatives that appears when Ubuntu autodetects the printer.

Before, I set up a wireless router in order to assign a given (fixed) ip to the printer via dhcp protocol.

Then I downloaded the multifunction printer drivers from avasys (http://avasys.jp/eng/) that officially support epson products, and followed provided instructions

Both printer and scanner functions are available from the wifi connection an works fine

printer is managed via CUPS
scanner can be used via iscan (epson utility), both directly and from gimp (as a plug-in), xsane recognizes the (network) scanner too
the scanner ADF is available from iscan and works fine

EPSON Stylus Photo RX425 (5)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Linux other and has a average rating of 5

The last rating (5) has been submitted on 2005-01-01 12:00:00 by Anonymous running Linux other:
EPSON RX425 is an All-in-one printer / scanner / cards reader

I put it in the "Scanner" category, as the scanner is more or less the only special compatibility issue for this device.

* System : Linux Mandrake 10.1 / kernel 2.6.8.1-10mkd
* Software : libsane1-1.0.14-3mdk, xsane-0.93-1mdk,
sane-backends-1.0.14-3mdk, iscan-1.13.0-3

The printer was detected and configured in a breeze from Mandrake Control Center, as a Stylus Photo RX425 with Ghostscript / gimp-print-ijs on /dev/usb/lp0

For the scanner to be recognized, I had to use Image Scan! for Linux and use sane-find-scanner as quoted here : http://www.epkowa.co.jp/english/linux_e/
Works with iscan as well as xsane and Kooka.

The CF reader was automatically recognized and mounted as /dev/sda which is available in /mnt/removable (same than my USB key !) on my system.

Well, that sounds find to me, especially for 140€ !
