Worked immediately on my existing install of Fedora Core 4. Used an external harddrive with it and got speeds I'd expect from a USB 2 connection.

Works great on my 2.6.26 kernel with drivers (rt2870sta, v1.3.1.0) supplied by the chipset manufacturer. The drivers may require some simple patching, though. Works great with madwifi drivers under Fedora Core 4. Haven't tried WPA. Apparently some cards with the exact same name may use a different chipset (Europe vs. USA - mine is the USA version).

Madwifi driver HAL doesn't seem to work with the card: "unable to collect channel list from hal".

Working perfectly with Debian and kernel 2.4.22-xfs using the Atmel AT76c503a driver. Seems to be safer if you compile Atmel from source. Does not work with 2.6 kernels. Atmel Drivers included with 2.6 Distro's just don't work, spent days trying to get it to work.

There are many versions of this card on the market if you go to www.dlink.com 's website. This is the last one in the list.

The full name of the card is "D-Link DWL-650 Wireless PC Card RevP ISL37101P-10 A3"

What is important is that it seems to be running the Prism chipset. I figured this out by looking at the installation files for Win98 which said something to the effect of PRISM.INF.

I could get neither the acx100 or wvlan drivers to bring up the card.

I tried using this card on a Dell Latitude c840
