COMPEX RL 2000A PnP (3)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Ubuntu Linux and has a average rating of 3

The last rating (3) has been submitted on 2008-07-17 11:16:52 by Anonymous running Ubuntu Linux:
I installed this network card under Ubuntu 8.04. This is an ISA card. Ubuntu did not automatically detect this. It worked after adding the line
"alias eth0 ne" (loading the driver ne)
to the file "/etc/modprobe.d/aliases". Don't add the additional line "options ne io=0x300" that you sometimes see as a recommendation! It didn't work with this, only without it.

Compex WLU11a USB Nic (5)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Linux other,Ubuntu Linux,Ubuntu Linux,Ubuntu Linux and has a average rating of 5

The last rating (5) has been submitted on 2007-11-12 17:06:00 by Anonymous running Linux other:
Nearly gave up on this nic, Compex WLU11a. It works great on windows, but never worked with other Linux distros i tried, Fedora, Mandrake, Debian, Knoppix. Great news, got my other USB nic DWL-120a to work, it uses the same driver the WLU11a uses, namely ATmel. Kanatox Linux will load the Atmel drivers and get you up and running in a hurry, no headaches. Currently i've tried Kanatox with kernel 2.6.9 Kanotix is based on Knoppix, but Kanotix did a great job autodetecting this USB nic. No where on the net have I found anyone to get this NIC running with Kernel 2.6 When I tried other kernels, I had serious lockup problems. With the help of linuxcompatible.org I've been fortunate enough to get my other devices running, and really have to thank the people who provide this service to the Linux commmunity. Hope this helps others who bought this NIC.
