Best Data 56K V.92 Data/Fax USB Modem Model #56USBSL (5)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Linux other,Slackware Linux and has a average rating of 5

The last rating (5) has been submitted on 2006-06-15 11:09:44 by bhermanson running Linux other:
The Best Data 56k V.92 USB Modem works good in 2.4 Kernels (the drivers are on the Disc), it also work in 2.6 kernel but you need to d/l them from http://www.smlink.com

This Best Data Modem uses Smartlink drivers and when you install it in the 2.4 kernel you will need kernel-doc & kernel-source of your version of the 2.4 kernel to sucessfully compile the drivers. If you are using Kernel 2.6 you will only need Kernel-doc but not kernel-source to compile the drivers.

Note: If you dont hear the modem dialing out that's ok because as long as it dialing the number silently your modem is working fine, also if you are using this modem on a older system is slow your performance of your system down slightly I recommend that you use the modem on a more modern/up-to-date PC.
