Tried with the following (Mandrake 8.2 & Red Hat 9) but none would detect the NIC, tried the one onboard, one PCI from Startech.com (wich I know worked on another system), but nothing, nada zip. In Mandrake it would tell me it's down, in RH it won't even be detected.

Works fine with Mandrake 9.0. I've always had problems with the onboard sound and Linux on SiS chipset boards so I am using a Creative PCI16 soundcard.

You need to disable ADMA by putting sata_nv.adma=0 as a boot parameter in order to install Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit. The 32-bit version installs without this parameter.

NOTE: New to Linux & Ubuntu Jaunty (V9.04) 64bit All hardware comes up under fresh install. Using on-board graphics. I have some problems with the Proprietary Video Card Hardware Driver (Ati/amd proprietary FGLRX graphics driver). Display resolution does not always change but seems dependent upon account so this may be just a configuration error on my part. I only have IDE drives and have not tested the SATA , e-SATA, HDMI, DVI, or IEEE 1394a ports.

19" widescreen LCD monitor. KDE versions < 4.2.4 don't recognize the native resolution of 1680x1050; later versions do but set a 60Hz refresh rate, which is apparently out of range at that resolution. Adding a 1680x1050 70 Hz mode to xorg.conf helps in both cases. Tested (over time) with both Arch and Debian Sid.

Works great with Fedora and Nvidia drivers for sound and network. Note, AGP is only 4X Pro. SATA is recognized in latest Fedora Kernel.

Works fine, but be warned there are several different models with similar model numbers. I have installed a Gigabyte GeForce 7200 card in a PCI-E slot and a PVR 150 in a PCI slot. USB, Gbit network, and sound worked on installation. I've not tried to do anything fancy. I've not tried SATA. Onboard IDE worked fine.

The BIOS mine came with had a bug that would prevent suspend from working with a 64bit OS and >= 4GB of memory (which I had). After updating to the latest BIOS (at least 1402) suspend works fine (running Ubuntu 8.10). The BIOS was easily upgradable thanks to EZ Flash 2, you just need a FAT32 formatted USB drive.
