Alcatel Speedtouch 330 ADSL Modem purple (5)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Linux other and has a average rating of 5

The last rating (5) has been submitted on 2004-06-01 12:00:00 by Anonymous running Linux other:
Mandrakelinux 9.2. I've had this modem working for quite a while on the internet. However, I did need to use a dial up modem (an old HAYES one I had kicking about) and a dial up account with freeserve. When you install mandrake, and set up your modem (with your account details), go into 'configure' in the K-menu, update the DRAKETOOLS etc, then once you reboot you can setup the ADSL modem without any problems. If you have a freeserve account, you could update to ADSL once you have updated the files, to get around the 12 month contract.

Alcatel Speedtouch USB (5)

This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Linux other and has a average rating of 5

The last rating (5) has been submitted on 2002-10-01 12:00:00 by Anonymous running Linux other:
Automaticaly reconized and installed in Mandrake (but it's a bit tricky with the 8.2 release)

For others distro you must get the microcode from alcatel's site (download only the binary package, you'll only need the file named "mgmt.o" if you use the open source driver)
http://www.speedtouchdsl.com/support.htm

But don't install their driver, use the open source one who works much better
Then you can find it here :
http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net

They also have a good documentation for installation.
